Welcome to my blog about the Outdoors and my preparation and attempts at
doing the TGOC.
It’s a blog so don’t expect great pieces of writing that will win some literary prize. This is basically me expressing myself in words (however badly) most days my love and passion for the Outdoors. Hey sometimes I even get out there as well. But that is all dependent on family commitments, which as those of you out there in relationships will know even at the best of times have a habit of throwing a spanner in the works
Not sure if it comes over in the blog but sometimes I can be a bit of a geek. I love gadgets. There I’ve said it. It’s in the open. I’ve been into computers etc since the age of twelve at the start of the home computer boom in the early eighties. So that ages me right away. Yes I am now just turning into a forty something.
Anyway since completing my HND in Computer Studies at Brighton Poly, I have worked as a code monkey in several industries until just over two years ago. When I decided I needed a change from the daily grind of coding. That change was to move over into client support. They say a change is as good as a holiday and this was definitely that. I’ve really enjoyed the client support side of things.
Well two years of being unemployed bought about by being caught up in the first round of redundancies at my previous employers, has seen me change career. I am now training and being at the same time an ICT lecturer.
