Flying the flag and seeing who salutes

So I had this brain wave this earlier. But I needed to sound it out, so a call to Mr Sloman, who after discussing thought it was a good idea.

So what is this great idea? Well it’s plural for starters so ideas.

The first couple involved Alan, and very little from me. I think Alan has been convinced that they are a good idea and he should do them. All I’m going to say “Challenging Ways” July 2012.

The final idea is all mine to do (with some help from others hopefully). In the past there has been outdoor blogger meet ups, and they have been fun social times in some great countryside.

But I was wondering wouldn’t it be cool if the more techie of us held a kind of “Outdoors Bloggers Blog Camp”? Where sessions on various blog related techie stuff are run, such as wordpress/blogger basics, or custom themes and stuff like that. Or how about convincing Phil the guy behind Social Hiking to come along and talk about that and how to use it in your own blog? (Mind you I just floated that idea here, I haven’t actually asked Phil if he is prepared to do that).

So at the moment it’s just an idea. No other details at the moment. I was thinking a weekend, or as Alan suggested maybe just a single day. Location wise would need facilities to run presentations, maybe even a classroom, and definitely coffee shop on site or near by for break times.

So over to you out there, what do you think? Is it worth trying to arrange, find a venue?

UPDATE: wow the initial response has been great (see comments). I better start planning things now.

Why not meet and wild camp and walk. Old school. Even go to a pub on the way. Like we use to. Tech is good but going outdoors is better.
