Cross Pollination

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a post promoting a new blog. Normally now I just add them to the blog roll on the right.
However I do feel that “Glyde Around Britain” written by Rob deserves a mention.
Rob is going to be doing an unsupported cycle ride round the coast of this island we live on. So why on a walking/hiking/backpacking/lightweight blog like this am I making a special mention of Rob? I think Rob explains this best on his blog,
“I’m a cyclist currently hanging out with the lightweight backpacking crowd because they have the best lightweight camping kit that I need in order to keep down the weight of my cycle.”
What a great example of cross pollination between the two past times. This is what appeals to me. I like to see new ideas being picked up and expanding a hobby. Some hobbies are closer than others, and have a more natural fit and cross over. It helps us grow.
I wish Rob every success in his adventure, and will certainly be following how he gets on. I hope he knows what he has let himself in for with this blogging lark, it can get addictive.
PS Rob don’t forget to join the OBF (link on the left) if you haven’t already.
PPS I hope Podcast Bob is taking note and planning to interview Rob for a podcast
