Caffeine Addiction

One thing you will find in my pack, well hip pocket actually, when I do something like the TGO Challenge is a pack of Jolt gum. Jolt gum is a caffeine gum from the US of A. Two chunks of the gum is meant to be the same caffeine hit as a mug of coffee. The gum is handy for that caffeine hit when you don’t want to stop to make a brew, or if when you get up it’s pissing down so much that you just want to break camp and get on your way. I love the stuff. Sadly it is not sold here in the UK so I have to be resourceful to get it.
Now geeks are well known for their caffeine addiction. Sadly for UK geeks they are under served in this area, where as our American cousins are pampered on this front. It used to be Jolt cola in the 90’s. But since then the products they have available to purchase had grown considerably.
The latest being Caffeinated Nixie Tubes. I just know I want some of these, a caffeine powder that is a sweet! Cool. But looking at some of the other stuff they sell, I want to get the caffeine lolly pops as well. Plus love the one called crackheads. Plus they do caffeine cookies!
I am jealous they are so spoilt over in the States, but then I suppose we get better mobile contracts than them. So it kind of evens out I suppose. But then again a mobile doesn’t have much of a caffeine hit when you lick it.

Chocolate coated coffee beans are worth a try… but hideously expensive. Used to be available from specialist coffee shops but I haven’t seen them in the uk for maybe a dozen years…
Tho I’m not a fan on chocolate as a travel food – too messy!

Baz, had some last time I was walking with him at the start of the year. I will have to get him to post where he got them once he gets back from his holiday in Spain.
I just haven’t been able to get head round eating coffee beans, somehow doesn’t seem right. Especially if it’s one of those ones that pass through an animals digestive system!

AHHH! Those Weasle beans you mean matey! Yes! Recall we all used to chew on Pro-Plus tablets in the TA to try to be able to stay awake on night ambushes and night marches across Otterburn training areas.

I think coffee beans are roasted before eating so they’re crunchy and break up when bitten… No worries about starting leaving pellets!!! {grin}

Trev, never tried the pro-plus, prefer the more pleasurable ways of getting caffeine into system.
Rob, I think you are right.

Guarana Buzz gum is widely available – Guarana naturally has double the caffeine of coffee …
