All Over The Place

After the rain of yesterday, today was the complete opposite. I woke early, and decided to enjoy the sun.
I knew I had alot on today so thought a brew up while going round Fleet Pond would have to do. Some how a planned hours walk became two!
Early on in the walk I came across this butterfly on a thistle. I have to say I’m still amazed at the results the FinePix S5600 is giving. Considering the distance I was from the butterfly to be able to zoom in like this is incredible.
Near the end of the walk I stumbled across this young frog/toad on the path.
I still haven’t managed to get the woodpecker, or (and I’m adding this to the list) a fox. But they will come.
Over at Blogpackinglight, Robin wrote about “Leave no trace” and applying that to local walks as well. It was timely that I had read that before I set out on this mornings walk. Within feet of leaving the car were the remains of some-ones take away. I agree with the points that Robin was making. I’d like to the list, and that is those dog walkers who pick up after their dogs and then leave the bags there on the floor or in bushes/trees. What is the point of that?
It’s been a day of getting things done. Which included a trip to Aldi to pick up the digital calipers they had go on sale today. Why would I want these? Well to measure accurately the stoves and other bits of kits. I’ll be adding these measurements to all the reviews from now on. I just need to find an affordable set of accurate digital scales now.
I also picked up some bits for next weekends trip to Dartmoor during the weekly shop. But I also added in a couple of things for side projects I have on the go. More on those later.

I agree Darren, it’s actually worse if they use the poop bags and leave them around. Take them home or put them in a bin. The thoughtlessness of some people just beggars belief.
