peak ignition at work
Well as you can see the Peak Ignition arrived today.
First impressions of it out of the box was how small it was, and light. If I wasn’t using the MSR Mug Mate, it would easily fit in the MSR Titanium mug I have along with the folding titanium spork I use to make a very light and compact brew kit.
So yes I had to use it whilst out with the dogs this evening. Wow, I like this stove alot. It has a roar to it that nearly matches the roar of the Jetboil. But the flame is also easily controllable. Plus it boiled the water for the brew alot quicker than the mini stove. But then I think this may of been optimal conditions (ie no breeze) tonight compared to the previous couple of times I have brewed up with the mini stove.
What didn’t work for me this evening (and you will have to forgive me as I don’t usually use powdered milk), was putting the powdered milk in first and then pouring in the water into the MSR Mug Mate. The milk went all lumpy. So will have to try adding it afterwards.
Tomorrow I’m due to walk the dogs with Martin, where we will be trying the Caldera Cone out. So some impressions and pictures of that in use tomorrow.
